About Haiying Zhang
Haiying Zhang is a Chinese English bilingual translator, founder of Little Bird Publishing in the United Kingdom.
Haiying Zhang is from northern China, Harbin. Haiying came to the UK in 2002 to study the MA translation course at Middlesex University, where she graduated in 2004. Haiying specialises in translating poetry, song lyrics and children's literature; Haiying also writes her own poems and children's stories both in English and Chinese.
Haiying's poetry and song lyrics translations have been published by two leading Chinese journals "Shi Kan [Poetry Periodical]" and "Ci Kan [Song Lyrics Periodical]; Haiying's English poems have been published by Forward Press in the UK since 2004, appearing in several poetry anthologies.
Before coming to the UK, Haiying was the headteacher of Harbin Fanxing Foreign Language School between 1997-2001, where she taught English to Chinese children.
It was Haiying's dream to build a cultural bridge between China and the UK and her passion in translation that had led her in setting up Little Bird Publishing in 2006.

张海英是一名中英文翻译，是英国小鸟出版社的创办人。
张海英来自中国的北方城市－哈尔滨。海英于2002年来到英国，在米德萨斯大学攻读翻译硕士学位，于2004年毕业。海英专攻诗歌，歌词和儿童文学的翻译; 用中英文写自己的诗歌和儿童故事等。
海英的诗歌和歌词翻译作品见于中国的领先刊物《诗刊》和《词刊》等杂志上，海英用英文写的诗歌2004年起由英国的Forward Press 发表，见于若干诗歌选集中。
在来英国之前，海英于1997至2001年间任哈尔滨繁星外语学校校长，在那里她教中国儿童学习英语。
是在中国和英国之间想架起一座文化桥梁的梦想和对翻译的热情促使海英于2006年成立了小鸟出版社。
